Atlanta is considered the top comedy scene in the country after New York & Los Angeles. Why you may ask? Since 2010, we have produced The Laughing Skull Comedy Festival which is considered the #1 comedy festival for up-and-coming comedians because we bring the top industry into our city looking for the next ‘big comedy star.’ That festival helps Atlanta attract the best comedians in the southeast to move here before moving onto to NYC or LA. Which means we always have a fresh flow of very funny comedians to put on our stage.
Our stage is not just for up-and-comers. The Laughing Skull Lounge is a comedy mecca, so when A-list comedians are in town for TV and film gigs, they make it a point to grace our stage and keep their comedy game strong. Fun fact: Kevin Hart had a 4-month residency with us when the pandemic hit. And we’ve been a playground for comedy legends like Dave Chappelle, Kevin Hart, Joe Rogan, Bill Burr, Jeff Foxworthy, Amy Schumer, Ron White, Tiffany Haddish, Chris Tucker, Iliza Shlesinger, and the list goes on.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
FROM THE PRODUCERS OF THE RIOT COMEDY CLUB
The Riot Comedy Festival is coming back for its third year in Montrose Houston from April 3rd-6th , 2025. The Riot Comedy Festival is an annual community event created by the founder of The Riot, award-winning comedian and entrepreneur Brian Gendron. Alongside his team of associate producers and dozens of volunteers The Riot Comedy Festival puts on over thirty comedy shows including famous comedians, standup, podcasts, improv, music, a national comedy contest, and more.
The vision for the festival is to connect fans with comedians through a fun and intimate experience and to bring the comedy industry to Houston. This years festival has expanded but remains in the Montrose neighborhood!
We will be hosting shows at The Riot Comedy Club located above Rudyards and at The Gordy Theatre (Stages) a short walk from the club, or you can catch a ride on the Cool Bus between the venues throughout the festival.
We have a lot of fun activities planned this year throughout the weekend including exclusive parties and our first annual all-you-can-eat Riot BBQ Cookoff Competition with special guest Meat Dave held on the lawn of the Gordy Theatre on Saturday, April 5th!!
